[Class 135] [Also in Group XIII] The steam supply to a railwav carriage radiator A is controlled by the expansion of the radiator relatively to the timber floor R. The spindle E of the valve member D is adjustably mounted in a threaded sleeve F carried by a fixed bracket G. Expansion of the radiator carries the valve body B with it until the valve seating is in contact with the member D and the steam is cut off. The valve may be manually closed by a hand lever K. A spring N closes the valve if the spindle fractures.
