Abstract
214,391. Gay, R. March 3, 1923. V a l v e s fitted with independentlyactuated supplementary valves. - A screw - down stop valve is provided with an auxiliary screw-down valve, seating on the opposite side of the main seating or on a separate seating, and actuated by an oppositely - threaded plug which screws into the casing and is capable of axial movement relatively to the auxiliary valve. The auxiliary valve plug 6 is provided with a separate square key 7, which also fits into a plug 5 of opposite thread, which screws into the casing. The plug 6 is moved to or from its seating by rotating the plug 5. A modification is also described in which the plug 6 coacts with an independent seating in the same casing.
