[Class 74 (ii)] A machine having means for varying the needles to which a splicing or other yarn is fed and having a cutter for severing the yarn each time it is withdrawn is provided with means for maintaining the loose ends of the yarn substantially uniform at the points of withdrawal from the fabric as well as at its points of introduction. The yarn feeding, tensioning and severing means are as described in Specification 532,520.
