532,430. Direct contact steam generators. GLENNY, A. P. Aug. 30, 1939, No. 24922. [Class 123 (ii)] In apparatus for generating steam by the direct contact of a water spray with a oxy-hydrogen flame as described in Specification 494,716, the flow of water through the spray nozzle h around the burner tubes b, c is controlled by a thermostatic tube o, through which is led part of the generated steam. The size of the spray nozzles may be increased or diminished by a sliding movement of the burner tubes in a block e carrying the water supply pipe g. The burner tubes are connected to the thermostatic tube by a lever t. In a modification, the thermostatic tube rotates the burner tubes which are screwed into the block e.
