Vaporizing-apparatus. -A vaporizer f for supplying a mixture of vaporized liquid fuel and air to a furnace a is fitted with a number of cross-tubes g through which the hot gases from the furnace pass. The tubes g are arranged at such angles to impart a whirling motion to the mixture. The vaporizer is arranged above the furnace in sectional fireclav or metal elements c into which the hot gases issue through ports e, e<1> having independently operable regulating dampers d. The elements c may be arranged close together or spaced apart by firebricks and holes i may be provided in their upper parts to allow the hot gases to escape past the fuel supply pipe h. The air entering the vaporizer may be given a whirling motion before mixing with the oil by bars s arranged in front of the air inlet j. The mixture is conveyed from the vaporizer through a return bend o to a delivery pipe p from which it issues into the furnace through ports n controlled by independently operable valves.
