Abstract
532,179. Loose-leaf binders. TRUSSELL MANUFACTURING CO. Aug. 18, 1939, No. 23922. Convention date, Nov. 16, 1938. [Class 146 (i)] In a ring binder, in which the rings are opened and closed by toggle action, separate pairs of finger-levers are provided at opposite ends of the binder for opening and closing the rings respectively. The rings are closed by levers 18, Fig. 3, projecting straight up from the toggleplates 7, 8 and are opened by a pair of crossed levers 19, Fig. 2, fixed to the plates. The levers 19 have lugs 20, 21 at their middle parts, which abut edge to edge, and lock the levers against operation. The levers are unlocked by twisting them, so as to disengage the lugs. A spring cover-plate 12, which holds the toggle-members together, is notched to allow the passage of the ring sections, which project from the edges of the members. The edges of the toggle-members are notched at the sides of each ring, to afford free clearance for the rings.
