Abstract
531,435. Resiliently mounted posts. PENDULASTIC, Ltd., ROBERTS, A. S., and ILIFFE, C. E. July 22, 1939, No. 21319. [Class 20 (i)] [Also in Group XL] A wireless mast for a motor-vehicle, e.g. a military tank, is mounted so as to " give " under a sudden or severe shock, though not to vibrate unduly under normal travelling conditions. As shown the lower end of the mast a fits into a socket g secured by an upper seating-ring i,. and a lower nut h, to the top of a cupshaped rubber mount b, which is screwed to a bracket or platform on the vehicle. A radial key k fits into a corresponding slot to prevent relative rotation, whilst a split ring m is tightened by a winged nut o to keep the mast in place. A compressible lip r of rubber is formed around the opening in the rubber mount b so as to make a water-tight joint.
