Abstract

690,148. Hasp fastenings. NADEAU, J. M. March 27, 1951 [March 31, 1950; June 28, 1950], No. 7101/51. Class 44 [Also in Group XXXII) A releasable fastening for securing a luggage platform above the roof of a motor vehicle (see Group XXXII) comprises a bow 13 arranged transversely of the vehicle and formed with a circular foot 14 which rests within a longitudinal roof drip channel 8. A U-section toggle member 16, pivoted at 15 to the bow 13, carries a pivotally mounted hook shaped member 17 so arranged that when the member 16 is located over the bow 13 the drip channel 8 is clamped between the foot 14 and the hook 17. Rubber pads 20 and 21 are interposed to prevent metal-tometal contacts and a padlock may be inserted through holes 23 in projecting lugs 22.
