Abstract

531,029. Windows. BACHTOLD, M. July 10, 1939, No. 20035. [Class 20 (iii)] A window has side hinged sashes 1, 3 and a laterally sliding central sash 2 which when the sash 1 is open may be slid into its end position 4 pivoted outwards near the line of the hinges of the sash 1. The central sash is supported on rollers between upper and lower flanged iron rails 7. Angle iron guides 11, 12 on the sash have transverse webs 13 formed with notches 15 which engage the front flanges of the rails 7. A fitting 21 at the top corner of the sash has a pin 25 on a flat sided block 24 and adapted to engage corresponding recesses 28, 27 in a fitting 26 at the top corner of the frame. A fitting 32 at the bottom corner of the sash has a pin 34 with a circular recesses 35 which engages a peg on the bottom corner of the frame. A lug 23 on the fitting 21 engages a curved slot 29 in the. fitting 26. The webs 13 on the guides 11, 12 pass through slots 19 in the front flanges of the rails 7, when the window 2 is opened and helps to support the window during the initial part of the turning movement.
