528,650. Alloys. BRITISH THOMSONHOUSTON CO., Ltd. May 11, 1939, No. 14076. Convention date, May 12, 1938. Drawings to Specification. [Class 82 (i)] [Also in Group XXXVI] In the construction of an electrical measuring instrument (see Group XXXVI) the following alloys are employed. For a compensating shunt a material of negative temperature coefficient of permeability of the composition Cu 20-40 per cent., Ni 60-81 per cent. and Fe approximately 2 per cent. is used. Alloys of high coercive force for permanent magnets are as follows, Ni 20; Al 12 ; Co5 ; Fe 63 or Ni 17; Al 10 ; Co 12 ; Cu 6; Fe 55 or Ni 25; Al 13; Fe 62 or Ni 30; Al 12; Fe 57 ; Si 0.75, all figures being per cent. by weight. A yoke is formed of high permeability material such as Ni 78.5 per cent. ; Fe the balance or Ni 46-48 per cent; Fe the balance. Specification 233,358, [Class 82 (i)], is referred to.
