Abstract
528,605. Aerials. TELEFUNKEN GES. FUR DRAHTLOSE TELEGRAPHIE. May 10, 1939, No. 13971. Convention date, May 11, 1938. [Class 40 (v)] The vertical conductors f, g of an Adcock aerial system comprising one or more wires of aluminium or bronze are mounted inside insulating tubes h, m of ceramic material whereby the insulating condition of the aerial supports is rendered independent of weather conditions. The upper ends of the conductors are attached to springs n, by varying the tension of which the lengths of the conductors can be varied; to prevent the springs from picking up wronglypolarized waves, the upper parts of the insulating tubes are screened by the cylinders o. The screened horizontal leads can also be placed in insulating tubes and all enclosing tubes should preferably be sealed to prevent the ingress of water. A known portable U-type Adcock system is also referred to in which the masts comprise sectionalized metallic tubes.
