Abstract

528,589. Inks. KYRIACOU, D. S. P. May 9, 1939, No. 13892. [Class 146 (iii)] [Also in Group XVI] A typewriter is provided with a two-colour ribbon or with two separate ribbons one part on one ribbon being impregnated with ink which is opaque and similar in colour to that of the paper so that by typing in that ink over an erroneous section the incorrect portion is obliterated. The lighter-coloured of the two inks, which may be used for typing on dark-coloured paper or for obliterating typing on a white paper is preferably composed of a mixture of barium sulphide, titanium dioxide, paraffin oil, and linen oil. The typewriter may be provided with an obliterating type in the form of a plate, the face of which may be roughened, actuated by a special.key or secured over one of the lesser-used types.
