527,635. Picnic stoves. EVERTON, Ltd., E. T., and PADMORE, A. T. April 6, 1939, Nos. 10719 and 18096. [Class 126] In a picnic kettle stand of the hollow body type legs are pivotally connected to the base and raised or moved inwardly into a kettle supporting position from an out of way position adjacent the base or side wall of the stand. The legs may be constructed in the form of non-radial wire supports 17, Fig. 1, or in the form of flat strips 23, Fig. 4, having lower limbs 24 pivoted in slotted openings 26 in the base and connected at their inner ends to a central disc or spider 29 which, rotated by a handle 33, moves the legs 23 inwardly. The handle 33 and guiding slot 15 may be constructed, for example may be notched, to retain any relative position and thereby cause the legs 23 to grip securely the kettle when housed within the stand. Lugs 30 on the disc 29 centralize the burner. Openings 16 in the side walls of the stand lead off combustion products to the marginal portion of any oversize kettles placed on the rim 14.
