526,626. Heat-treating furnaces. FRAZIERSIMPLEX, Ihc. March 23, 1939, No. 9162. Convention date, Feb. 1. [Class 51 (ii)] A tunnel furnace for the heat-treatment of glassware carried through the furnace on a conveyer 5 which advances from left to right has combustion flues 6 delivering hot gases to the kiln at 9. The gases flow through a portion 1 of the furnace which is heat insulated to exits 11 in a floor and flues 14, 15 to a chimney 12. Cold air enters a heat radiating portion 2 of the furnace at the end 4 and is regulated by louvres 13 arranged in the roof. The stream of cold air passes over and through the ware to the exits 11 and to the chimney 12.
