Abstract
525,969. Valve generating circuits. KOLSTERBRANDES, Ltd., and SMYTH, C. N. March 3, 1939, No. 7087. [Class 40 (v)] The slow-stroke circuit of a back-coupled relaxation-oscillator has an invariable time-constant, but the voltage at which free discharge of the condenser takes place is made variable. As shown the condenser C, is charged slowly over invariable resistance R 1' and is discharged when synchronizing signals are received over a hard valve V. The anode voltage of valve V is adjustable by potentiometer R 3 , R 4 so that the frequency and amplitude of free oscillation can be varied, but this alteration affects neither the frequency nor the amplitude of the synchronized oscillations. Amplitude of the output oscillations is controlled by the provision of a variable gain amplifier or variable attenuator.
