[Class 55 (i)] A combustion chamber A separated by a grate C of refractory material from a reaction chamber B accommodates an automatic stoker F using powdered fuel. The carbon dioxide generated by combustion of the powdered fuel is reduced in the chamber B to carbon monoxide. Channels H for cleaning the grate C and a door G for removal of ashes are provided. Water, steam or additional carbon dioxide may be introduced into the combustion chamber. Specification 351,892 is referred to.
