Abstract
524,663. Electric cable insulators. BULLERS, Ltd., and DAGNALL, H. C. R. Feb. 3, 1939, No. 3689. [Class 36] In electric insulators of the kind in which a metal supporting or suspension pin is secured in a bore in the body of the insulator, the body of the insulator is continued beyond where it is attached to the pin and is spaced away from the latter along the continued portion so as to form an annular air space which is sealed by a washer supported by a shoulder on the pin having a face directed towards the body of the insulator. In an insulator comprising a head 10 having a shed 11 and a socket 12 in which is cemented the head, 13 of an inner member having a shed 14, an annular air space 19 is formed between a depending skirt 18 on the inner member and a shoulder 17 formed on the pin 16 provided with a threaded extremity 15 screwed into the inner member. The space 19 is sealed by a belt washer 20.
