Abstract
520,624. Electric incandescent lamps. PHILIPS LAMPS, Ltd. June 24, 1939, No. 18485. Convention date, June 27, 1938. [Class 39 (ii)] [Also in Group XL] An incandescent or electric arc discharge lamp has a bulb provided with a metal network, this network being fastened to the bulb by means of a thin coating of transparent vitreous material having a melting point lower than the softening point of the bulb glass so that it constitutes a unit with the bulb. The network may be arranged on the bulb which is then immersed in a bath of liquid in which is suspended the finely ground transparent substance, the whole being then dried and heated to a temperature above the melting point of that substance. In Fig. 2, 6 represents the bulb wall, 7 the network and 8 the transparent vitreous material.
