518,964. Elastic-fluid turbines; turbo-compressers. TALALMANYKIFEJLESZTO ES ERTEKESITO K. F. T. July 7, 1938, No. 20128. Convention date, July 7, 1937. [Classes 110 (i) and 110 (iii)] In a gas-turbine plant wherein a turbine 2 producing work at 15 is combined with a turbocompresser 1 for the working-medium of a combustion chamber supplying gas to the turbine, the blades 7, 9 of the rotor and casing of the compresser or the corresponding blades 8, 10 of the turbine are set at such angles that the working-fluid itself rotates at a relative velocity which is between 1/4 and 3/4 the difference between the velocities of the rotor and casing. The blades are thin sheet or aerofoil shape and their angles are measured between the base line of each blade on 'its concave side and the line representing the path of the blade ends, the rear end in the case of the compresser and the front end in the case of the turbine. Formulae are given for the limit values of the blade angles co-related to the speed of the rotor as in Specification 511,645. Specification 516,438 also is referred to.
