Abstract
518,347. Holding tools. NOTON, T., and NOTON, K. S. [trading as NOTON, T.]. Sept. 16, 1938, No. 27018. [Class 61 (ii)] A device for holding a block of belt dressing composition enabling it to be applied to the belting from a distance comprises a troughshaped member 2 open at one side, a plate f adapted to close this open side and having apertures to take two screwed studs c<1> projecting from the member 2 enabling the belt composition block 5 to be gripped between teeth b', f' on the opposed gripping members by tightening the nuts c<2>, and a socket 3 fixed to the base portion d of the member 2 and adapted to receive a long handle 4 secured by screws 4a. If desired the holder may have a bent socket for the handle, and the gripping members may be semicylindrical to hold a round block. In another construction, Fig. 7, the block 5 is gripped at the' loop end 7d of a U-shaped member the legs of which slide in tubular portions 7a, 7b of the handle 7, gripping being effected by turning a screw 8. Fig. 13 shows a reacher device comprising tubular members 9, 9a by means of which the device shown in Fig. 1 may be mounted on a handle and used for overhead belts.
