Abstract

516,364. Electric hot-plates. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and CATTELL, G. S. June 22, 1938, No. 18538. [Class 39 (iii)] An electric hot plate is formed with a sheetmetal top plate 1 provided with corrugated channel or angular section sheet metal members 2 welded to the underside thereof to form straight parallel open channels. A coiled electric heating element 3, embedded in insulating material, is arranged in these channels in zigzag manner. Current is supplied through terminals 5 mounted by insulating bushes 6 in lugs. 7 welded to the flange 8 of the plate 1. In an alternative construction, a single channel section -member 2 is used, arranged spirally.
