Abstract
516,255. Warp stop mechanism. BRITISH CELANESE, Ltd. July 19, 1938, No. 21446 Convention date, July 23, 1937. [Class 142 (i)] [Also in Group VIII] Warp stop mechanism for textile machines, e.g., warp knitting machines, comprises a bar 38 having serrations in which are guided detectors 39 which are held in position in the serrations by a flat bar 41. On breakage or undue slackening of a warp thread on which a detector is hung the detector drops in its serration and, as by contact of a projection 43 thereon with a contact bar 44 set in the bar 38, completes an electric circuit to stop the machine. The bars 38, 41 and warp guide bars 47, 48 are adjustable in height. The bar 48 can be lowered to clamp the detectors in the dotted-line position, for threading. The eye of the detector is split as shown and formed with barbs 9b, 9c, which prevent disengagement of the warp thread from the detector. A lug 46 on the detector prevents disengagement from the serrations. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises setting the contact bar 44 in the bar 41. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
