[Class 40(v)] A screening cover for a component such as a thermionic valve comprises a base portion a permanently fixed to the receiver chassis, a body portion b detachable secured to the base by a two-way bayonet joint g engaged by an indented portion h on the body, and a cap c secured to the body by a oneway bayonet joint k engaged by indented portions m. The cap c contains a coil spring d closed by an insulated disc e which bears down on the top of the valve envelope to prevent loosening. due to vibration. By means of the double and single bayonet joints the cap and body may be detached together, or successively.
