[Class 26] In a flushing cistern having a combined valve and siphon discharge, the syphon G has an air inlet K so that the siphonic action is broken to give a partial discharge, complete discharge being effected by an additional or continued opening of the valve D. The air inlet may consist of a hole or a curved. pipe H the level of the lower end of which can be adjusted by turning the pipe to an oblique position relative to the siphon. In a modification the level of the air inlet is adjusted by a sliding or screw threaded extension of the pipe, the lower end of which is bevelled to prevent noise. Specifications 1058/95, 26494/96, [both in Class 26], and 421.151 are referred to.
