513,365. Making dispersions. NATIONAL OIL PRODUCTS CO. March 1, 1938, No. 6395. Convention date, March 2, 1937. [Class 1 (i)] [Also in Group IV] Dispersions, for example, aqueous dispersions of sulphur are prepared by means of sulphonated aliphatic compounds which have been extracted with saturated halogenated organic solvents having from 2 to 6 carbon atoms in the molecule so as to increase their content of sulphur trioxide. Sulphonated oleic acid and olive oil are used in the examples but sulphonated products obtained from the following oils may also be used : Castor, corn, fish, sperm, neatsfoot, linseed, lard, rape seed, soya-bean, coconut and cotton seed oil. The sulphonated fatty acids may also be used as starting materials and sulphonated fatty acid esters other than glycerides. Specification 351,013, [Group IV], is referred to.
