Abstract

512,383. Glazing shop fronts; window frames. REINHARD, G. Nov. 17, 1938, No. 33464. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, June 22, 1939.] [Class 20 (iii)] The supporting member 4 of the glazed frame of a shop front is provided with an upstanding web having two flanges 25, 26, the lower one being stepped and the raised part 28 being about the same depth as the upper glass-engaging flange 25. The lower flange is secured to the wall or an angle member 2 thereon by screws 3. The glass-securing member 8 is engaged by a member 11 which is screwed to a flange 27 on the frame 4, Fig. 1. A cover 20 which may be separate is secured to the supporting member by screws 7 or by a screw-actuated clamping member 45 non-rotatable in a strap 64 of U-shape, the screw being moved with a retaining collar 49 engaging the strap. The glass securing member may be of T-shape and held by a screw clamp engaging the central web 23, Fig. 4. Putty or other filling is used between the members and the pane.
