Abstract
510,983. Alloys. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., BENJAMIN, M., and SMITHELLS, C. J. May 5, 1938, No. 13447. [Class 82 (i)] The core of an oxide coated thermionic cathode consists of a nickel alloy containing not less than 75 per cent. of nickel with 0.15- 0.5 per cent. of magnesium with or without other elements such as iron and cobalt. The alloy may be made by melting nickel in a reducing atmosphere in an induction furnace and adding a magnesium-rich magnesiumnickel alloy immediately before casting into an ingot. Specifications 257,604, [Class 82 (i)], 376,727 and 397,132 are referred to.
