510,772. Fluid-pressure servomotor-control systems; valves. DRAGER, O. H. Nov. 22, 1938, Nos. 33887 and 33888. Convention dates, Dec. 2, 1937, and Dec. 23, 1937. [Class 135] [Also in Group VI] The respiratory passages in a breathing bag 7 are, prior to use, flushed with a stream of oxygen admitted through a nozzle 5 having a permanently open lateral passage 21 for the normal supply and controlled by a valve 19. The valve is urged away from the mouth of the nozzle by a spring 18 and closed thereon after a predetermined time by the build-up of pressure in a space 14 above a diaphragm 15 which presses on a plate 16 mounted on the valve stem 17. The time required for the pressure to build up depends upon the size of a nozzle 9 in a duct connected to the oxygen inlet passage 1. The space 14 is provided with a relief valve 32 which may be actuated by hand. A fine bore pipe may be substituted for the nozzle 9.
