508,659. Measurement of dielectric constant. O'DELL, A. E. (Haardt & Co., Akt.-Ges.). Dec. 21, 1938, No. 37172. [Class 37] An electric condenser for measuring the dielectric constant of solid substances in the form of plates, bands, or the like has deformable metal electrodes carried on flexible supports adjustable relative to one another by micrometer screw and surrounded by rigid tubular screens, which form abutments allowing of only limited deformation of the electrode supports. In the Figure, electrodes 3, 9 attached to the flexible supports 2, 8 are adjustable relative to one another by means of micrometer screw 13. Rigid screens 5, 6, 11, 12 serve also as abutments limiting the movement and gripping the test body 7. Conductors 4, 10 connect the electrodes to suitable terminals in the insulating base 1.
