Abstract
508,148. Emulsiying-agents. GEIGY AKT.-GES., J. R. July 29, 1938, No. 22646. Convention date, July 31, 1937. [Class 1 (i)] [Also in Groups IV and VIII] Aminoaryl sulphones, prepared by condensing sulphones having halogen in the o- or pposition to the SO2 group and of the general formula with nitrogen compounds, are suitable for emulsifying agents. In the formula, R represents hydrogen, or a saturated or unsaturated, substituted or unsubstituted aliphatic or alicyclic residue which may be interrupted by hetero atoms, and R1 represents hydrogen, alkyl or -CO-X (where X is alkyl, aryl, hydroxy, alkoxy, amino, monoalkyl- or dialkylamino) and at least one of R or R1 contains a residue of at least eight carbon atoms. The reactive nitrogen compounds are ammonia, primary aliphatic, araliphatic and hydroaromatic' amines, or secondary aliphatic, aliphatic-araliphatic, aliphatic-hydroaromatic or heterocyclic amines.
