Abstract
507,550. Electric hot - plates. SANDELL, B. H. R. Jan. 5, 1939, No. 416. [Class 39 (iii)l The resistors 10; Fig. 3, of an electric hot-plate comprising a number of concentric members 1, 2, 3 are embedded in channels formed by downwardly extending flanges 18 which surround arcuate slots 8, Fig. 1, between the portions 1, 2, 3. A bottom plate 4 encloses the elements. Each of the concentric portions 1, 2, 3 is provided with a centre tap connected to a pole 11, Fig. 5, of a switch 12 whilst the ends 13, 14 of each resistor are connected to poles 16, 17. The switch 12 is so constructed that the two sections of the resistors may be coupled in parallel, or in series, or only one of the sections of each resistor may be energized.
