507,425. Baths; panels. COCKBURN & CO., Ltd., M., and HUNTER, R. L. Dec. 13, 1937, No. 34428. [Class 26] [Also in Group X] A bath of the kind provided with a side panel or panels has a butt joint between a panel and an adjacent part of the bath, and a member having a head portion extending on each side of the joint and a stem portion extending into the joint. The stem portion may extend beyond the joint and be secured to a part of the bath so that the head part both conceals the joint and secures the panel in place. This stem portion may if desired extend beyond the joint only at such parts as are to be secured to the bath. In the construction shown the aluminium strip 9 of T-section extends between the edge 8 of the bath and the side panel 6 along the whole length of the bath. The outer surface 11 of the strip is preferably faced with stainless steel and is rounded, and the under surface is recessed so as to grip the panel and hold jointing material when used. The strip is riveted to the bar 13- of L-section which is secured to the lugs 15 of the bath and which extends the length of the bath. The limb 17 prevents any inward bending of the panel. The corner of the bath may be covered by a corrugated white metal corner piece as described in 607,426 that is held beneath the T-shaped strip at its upper edge.
