Abstract

504,954. Bottles &c. ; stoppers &c. INTERNATIONAL BOTTLE CO., Ltd., and BENNETT, W. Dec. 17, 1937, No. 35061. [Classes 125 (i) and 125 (iii)] A closure for bottles and like containers for volatile liquids comprises in addition to a screw cap 3 or like closure, a plug 4 of rubber or like resilient material, fitting into the neck of a bottle 1, said plug having a central hole 8 through which a brush 2 carried by the cap passes. A lateral flange 5 on the plug lies on the rim of the bottle neck forming a liquid and airtight seal. The top of the plug may be made concave for wiping the brush thereon. The hole 8 may be tapered upwards or downwards to enhance the wiping effect on the brush as it is withdrawn.
