Abstract
504,781. Gas turbines. BAYERISCHE MOTOREN WERKE AKT.-GES. Dec. 8, 1938, No. 35862. Convention date, Dec. 9, 1937. [Class 110 (iii)] The flange 2 carrying the rotor 1 of an exhaust gas turbine driving a charging blower is provided with blades (i which force cooling air, admitted at the centre, over the side of the rotor. The other side of the rotor is fitted with an annular disc 5 which also forces cooling air. Guide plates 10, 11, ars fitted along the sides of the rotor, the plate 11 being arranged to split the air stream so that part of it cools the blower casing 13. The rotor and blades have passages 15, 14, for the passage of cooling air.
