Abstract

504,307. Labels. FRENCH, W. J., and BRITISH COLOUR PRINTING CO., Ltd. Nov. 30, 1937, No. 33098. [Class 73] A label adapted to encircle boxes or other receptacles or articles comprises a strip 1 bearing advertising or like matter having its ends connected by elastic means such as a rubber band 4 whereby the label may be applied and secured on receptacles or articles of differing cross-section. The band 4 may be secured to the strip 1 by bending over tongues 3 and securing them by staples 5 as shown in Fig. 3. Alternatively, the tongues may be passed through the band and turned over so as to be sandwiched between the strip I and the article and be retained by friction. In another arrangement, Fig. 6, the band 4 is secured by strips 7 which are fixed at one end to the strip 1, passed through the band and then secured to the opposite face of this strip. The label may be formed wholly or partly of transparent material.
