Abstract

501,820. Two - stroke engines; cylinders ; pumps. REDRUP, C. B. Sept. 2, 1937, No. 17706/38. Divided out of 501,807. [Class 7 (ii)] In an opposed-piston two-stroke swashplate engine in which each cylinder has inlet and exhaust ports 12, 13 at opposite ends, exhaust lead is effected by offsetting circumferentially the two parts of each cylinder as shown. The inlet ports are surrounded by an annular chamber 49, see Fig. 1 of Specification 501,807, supplied by a pump 53, geared to the main shaft, and the exhaust ports lead, through an annular chamber 50, and three pipes 56, to an exhaust pipe 57. Other engine details are described in the Specification referred to above.
