Abstract

499,851. Sizing &c. yarns. CORNET, J. April 26, 1937, No. 11889. Void. Convention date, April 28, 1936. [Class 140] Yarn is sized between a warping machine and the beam on which it is wound ready for weaving. As shown, the yarn passes over an adjustable roller 9, beneath a roller 20 immersed in the sizing bath 1, through squeezing rollers 22, 23 open at one end, and between upper and lower drying plates 29, 30. The sizing liquid is fed from a tank 2 fitted with a mixer 6 through a valve 5 connected with a float in the vat 1. The roller 20 is on the lower rod of a frame 19 which can be fixed in guides 14, 15 with the roller 20 immersed or not immersed. The drying plates can be opened or closed by lever mechanism.
