[Class 29] [Also in Group XXII] A metal partition member or insert for domestic ice-making trays comprises a number of preferably similarly shaped prism-forming elements 11-14 mounted on a stiff resilient metal strip 10 threaded through a slot 20 in at least one transverse wall of each element. The slot may be closed as shown or open to one edge of the element and closed by pressing &c. subsequent to assembly. The intermediate elements are preferably U-shaped with walls adapted to diverge to facilitate release of the ice-cubes when the insert is removed from the tray, and the end elements 15, 16 have one transverse wall omitted or cut off to avoid adherence of end walls to the tray. The strip 10 is of non-poisonous metal such as stainless steel whereas the elements may be of more easily worked metal. The strip is preferably secured to one or both end elements by spot welding at 17, 18, or by rivets &c. The inserts may be made in quantity by threading elements over a long strip, securing to the strip those that are to form the end elements and then cutting the strip at the appropriate parts and subsequently cutting away the end walls of the end elements of each insert.
