Abstract

Disazo dyes for leather are made by coupling with a m-diamine of the benzene series, one molecular part of a diazotized aminosalicylic acid, sulphonated or not, and one molecular part of diazotized 4-amino-41-nitrodiphenylamine-21-sulphonic acid. They yield brown shades. In examples, dyes from the following components are described:2-hydroxy-3-amino-5-sulphobenzoic acid, 5-amino-2-hydroxybenzoic acid; m-phenylenediamine, m-toluylenediamine, 1-chlor- or 1-nitro-2 : 4-diaminobenzene. Specication 558/93, [Class 2], is referred to.
