Abstract
A hard-surfaced flexible floor covering is printed with a drying oil binder containing a relatively large amount of substantially colourless relatively coarse pigment, e.g. of the order of 5-150 microns, and a relatively small quantity of fine colouring pigment, e.g. of the order of 1-3 microns. A specified composition comprises a drying oil, e.g. linseed or chinawood oil, with or without resin, surface pigment, e.g. whiting, asbestine or talc, of 60-75 microns, and a smaller quantity of ground oil-dispersed colouring pigment of approximately 2 microns.ALSO:A flexible floor covering is made from a plastic composition comprising nitrocellulose, tricresylphosphate, ester gum, mineral pigment, wood powder and solvent, e.g. butyl acetate or alcohol.
