Abstract
Magnesium carbonate is used as a carrier for iron group catalysts for benzine synthesis. The carrier can be separated from the spent catalyst, prior to regeneration of the latter, by treatment with water and carbon dioxide producing soluble magnesium bicarbonate. From this the carbonate is reprecipitated by expelling the carbon dioxide.
