Abstract
497,716. Cotter pins. BRITISH UNITED SHOE MACHINERY CO., Ltd., and HENSHAW, J. N. June 23, 1937, No. 17431. [Class 89 (ii)] A split cotter pin is produced by bending into shape a length of wire of uniform crosssection comprising an outer convex face 10 and an inner flat or slightly concave face 12 joined on one or both sides by a narrow flat face 14 or 16, so as to form a head having on one or both sides an eye 20 with a tapered surface to facilitate the entry of a withdrawing tool, and legs of equal or unequal length having on one or both sides a groove 18 with fiat or substantially flat surfaces which extend the entire length of the legs to facilitate the insertion of a tool for spreading the legs apart. Specification 102,525, [Class 89 (ii)], is referred to.
