497,587. Electric incandescent lamps. ROVER, W. June 18, 1937, No. 17081. Convention date, June 18, 1936. [Class 39 (ii)] A lamp for emergency illumination during air-raids is provided with a bulb which, except for a small clear window H, is coated with a substantially opaque coating B applied directly to the bulb, and has a metal filament L of the smallest practicable diameter, for example 0À011 mm. in the case of a tungsten filament, and of such a length that its temperature does not exceed 1500‹ C. when the lamp is operated on mains of the voltage prescribed for it. Preferably the bulb is first provided with a coating of white paint, lacquer, or varnish upon which is applied a black coating of the same material. Specification 247,148, [Class 39 (ii)], is referred to.
