Abstract
496,371. Automatic guns. RHEINMETALL-BORSIG AKT.-GES., and ROSSMANITH, W. April 11, 1938, No. 11050. [Class 92 (ii)] A short-recoil automatic gun is provided with means, engaged by the locked barrel and breech at the end of the forward movement, to apply rearward movement to the barrel to increase recoil the actual firing occurring during this rebound of the barrel although the tripping of the sear to initiate firing may occur before or during such rebound. Fig. 1 shows the use of a spring 6 for causing rearward movement of the locked barrel 2 and breech block 3, the sear 5 being tripped by engagement with a member 4 to initiate firing. Fig. 2 shows the sear 4 arranged to slide during run-out over the member 5 which trips the sear during the rebound of the barrel.
