Abstract
<PICT:0496269/IV/1> <PICT:0496269/IV/2> A modified form of apparatus for carrying into effect the process of spinning and twisting artificial threads, described and claimed in Specification 460,744, comprises a rotary nozzle 1 disposed in a stationary precipitation chamber 6 having communication along the axis of rotation of the nozzle with a stationary supply chamber 8 and agitating means for producing rotation of the liquid in the precipitation chamber. Vanes 2 are secured to rings 3, 4, the ring 4 having projections 13 engaging in driving recesses in the nozzle body 14. The vanes extend into the extension 9 of the supply vessel 8, which extension passes through an aperture in the cover 7 of the precipitation vessel. The aperture is sealed by a plate 10. A tube 5 with a lateral flange 11 is secured to the vessel 8. The apparatus is opened by releasing the cover 7 and drawing the supply vessel 8 axially upwards, the vanes 2 being carried upwards by engagement of flange 11 with the ring 3, and the cover 7 by projections 12 on the extension 9. The nozzle body 14 carries vanes 16 which in conjunction with the conical wall of the vessel 6 operate to empty the vessel 6 when the cover 7 is lifted.
