Abstract
496,011. Carbon papers. KORESKA, W. Jan. 4, 1938, Nos. 239 and 240. Convention dates, April 20, 1937 and Nov. 16, 1937. [Class 100 (iv)] Carbon papers, having the usual coating on the front side and a coating of wax on the rear side to prevent curling, are also provided on the rear side with a substantially uniform coating of an opaque pigment contrasting in colour with that of the carbon composition to provide an indication of the front and back of the sheets. The paper support is preferably coloured to correspond to the colour of the carbon composition. When employing a dark paper and a black carbon composition, a white pigment such as lithopone or titanium white is preferably employed ; alternatively, metal powders can be used. The pigment is preferably incorporated in the wax, but if desired may be applied by printing before, after, or before and after the application of the wax coating.
