Abstract

495,750. Drinking - fountains. THOMPSON, R. W., and HARRIS, Ltd., T. A. March 28, 1938, No. 9465. [Class 69 (i)] In a drinking-fountain, a downwardlyinclined nozzle 2 is located behind a substantially vertical back structure 1 having a dished recess 10 through an aperture 13 in the upper part of which the jet from the nozzle issues, the frontal opening of the recess being of such a size as to prevent contact of the drinker's mouth with the wall around the aperture 13 or with the margin of the recess itself. In the form shown, the frontal opening of the recess is of D-shape with the straight portion horizontal and at the top, the recess comprising a flat inclined top 11 in which the jet aperture 13 is formed, and a part spherical lower wall 12. The supply pipe, shut off and regulating valves are arranged in the hollow back structure 1.
