Abstract

494,134. Spraying apparatus. BOSCH GES., R., (formerly BOSCH AKT. - GES., R.). Jan. 25, 1938, No. 2338. Convention date, Jan. 25, 1937. [Classes 69 (ii) and 69 (iii)] [Also in Group XXVIII] A hand spraying-apparatus for paint &c. of the kind in which a motor-driven pump ejects liquid through a spraying nozzle has the pump and driving motor assembled with their longitudinal sides bearing against one another. A casing 1 provided with a handle 2, encloses both the pump and the motor. The pump 12 is driven by an electric or other motor 7 through gearing 9 engaging a gear wheel 10 provided with an inclined annular track 10a which is engaged by a ball 13 carried on the end of the piston 12 and pressed into engagement therewith by a spring 32. The piston 12 is provided with a head 12b having recesses to co-operate with the inlet aperture 14a for a lubricating auxiliary liquid, arranged in such a manner that the amount of liquid introduced is determined by the extent of turning of the piston 12. The position of the piston is set by a trigger 27 and a rod not shown. The material to be sprayed is delivered from a reservoir 17 through an inlet 18 into a cylinder 30. An auxiliary piston is moved to-and-fro by the auxiliary liquid in time with the movement of the piston 12 and forces liquid past a non-return valve 19 to the spray nozzle.
