Abstract
493,987. Two - stroke - - cycle engines. HEEGAARD, P. S. L. Sept. 12, 1937, No. 34076. Convention date, Dec. 9, 1936. [Class 7 (ii)] The pistons 24, 25 of cooperating pairs of cylinders are connected to opposite arms of a lever 5 which is pivoted about an axis 7 perpendicular to the crank-shaft and connected to an extension 3 of the piston-rod of a scavenging pump 19, the crank 10 of which is displaced 180‹ with respect to the crank 8 of the piston 24a. The extension 3 may be connected to the pistons of two neighbouring pairs of cylinders. The oppositely-moving pistons may have different strokes or diameters.
