Abstract
490,130. Bottles &c. ROSCHER, W. Feb. 3, 1938, No. 3451. [Class 125 (i)] Glass bottles for containing milk or other liquids provided with an internal shoulder a, Fig. 1, for a closure disc have the lip of the bottle protected by a metal or other protective covering b which extends from the shoulder a around the edge of the mouth of the bottle. The joints between the edges of the protective covering b and the bottle may be made tight by the insertion of packings l, m, Fig. 4. In addition to the shoulder a, the bottle may be adapted by means of an external groove or shoulder to receive a crown cork capsule or cap of aluminium foil. The packing l, m may be made of rubber or the like or synthetic resin. Where the packing is of thermo setting material the melting point should be above pasteurizing temperature.
